DTP OPERATOR Description of Position Eurotext Translations is seeking a full time DTP Operator to manage our DTP activities. Eurotext Translations is a full-service translation company in business for the past 12 years. Our portfolio of clients includes leading global multinationals in information technology, engineering, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and financial sectors. We offer a full range of translation, localisation, multilingual desktop publishing and engineering skills to our clients, who are served by highly skilled project management, account management and translation teams. Reporting to PM Production Manager Responsibilities •As part of the Eurotext in-house production team, to ensure consistent delivery of highest quality DTP to Eurotext clients. •Initially, to work on the DTP of both Mac and PC-based projects - however, as we grow, the position will expand to include a people management aspect. •To work closely with the PM and in-house translation departments to ensure the successful DTP and delivery of Eurotext projects. • You will be required both to carry out day-to-day DTP tasks while also managing the outsourcing of projects to external DTP resources. •To ensure all files for DTP are fully prepared for localization. •To effectively schedule multilingual DTP projects to meet tight client deadlines. This demands accurate scheduling of all DTP steps across multiple languages, including file preparation for Trados, DTP, implementation of corrections, graphic editing, PDF generation and final dispatch to client. •To effectively manage DTP costs. DTP Qualifications •Minimum 1-2 years, PC & Mac-based experience on Framemaker (PC) QuarkXpress (Mac & PC) Photoshop, Illustrator (Mac & PC) Acrobat, Pagemaker (Mac & PC) •In-depth knowledge of localization industry DTP processes, QA metrics and process improvement. •Keen eye for detail and ability to consistently provide highest quality DTP and implementation of corrections. •Full understanding of fonts, print drivers, postscripting, PDFing, bookmarking, TOC & index generation for European, Asian and Middle Eastern languages. •Experience in documentation design including creating of multi-lingual packaging and documentation template design. •Asian Language DTP experience an advantage.
